Welcome to Savor (“Savor,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

Savor helps you organize and rediscover your memories by analyzing photos that you choose to upload. Using artificial intelligence and location information, Savor identifies places, landmarks, restaurants, museums, activities, and other contextual details to create meaningful collections of your experiences.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have regarding your information.

By using Savor, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you create an account or use Savor, we may collect:

Your name (if provided)
Email address
Authentication information
Profile information
Photos you choose to upload
Notes, captions, titles, tags, and ratings you create
Communications with our support team
Email address or account identifier of invited users
Sharing permissions for invited users
Shared memory relationships for invited users

Savor only uploads photos that you intentionally add. If you grant photo library access, Savor may scan your library on your device (for example, photo dates and locations) to suggest trips and memories; that scan happens locally, and no photo is uploaded to Savor until you choose to add it.

Photos and Photo Metadata

When you upload a photo, we may process:

The image itself
Date and time the photo was captured
GPS location embedded in the photo (if available)
Camera metadata (EXIF)
User-added captions or notes

This information enables Savor to organize your memories, identify locations, and provide additional context.

Location Information

Savor may use location information from:

GPS metadata embedded in uploaded photos
Device location, if you choose to grant permission

Location information helps us:

Identify places and landmarks
Group memories by place or location
Display maps and geographic context
Improve the accuracy of place recognition

You may disable location permissions at any time through your device settings. Photos without location information can still be uploaded and analyzed.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Sharing of Information

When you choose to share a memory, the content and associated information are disclosed to the users you specifically invite.

AI Image Analysis

Savor uses artificial intelligence to enrich your memories.

When you upload a photo, the image may be securely transmitted to OpenAI for analysis.

OpenAI may identify information such as:

Landmarks, artwork, and architecture
Books and music
Flight tickets, receipts, and lodging
Nature (plants or animals) and sports
Restaurants, museums, and parks
Food and beverages
Activities, objects, products, and brands
General scene descriptions

When available, photo metadata, including capture date, time, and GPS coordinates, may also be used to improve recognition accuracy.

If location metadata is available, Savor may also use Google Cloud Platform services to identify nearby places, geographic context, landmarks, and other location-related information associated with the image.

The information returned from these services is used solely to organize and enhance your memories within Savor.

AI-generated information is intended to improve your experience and may not always be completely accurate.

People and Face Recognition

Savor can group your photos by the people who appear in them, so that you can find memories with a specific friend or family member.

How it works:

Face detection runs on your device when photos are processed.
For each detected face, Savor computes a numerical representation (a face embedding) that allows photos of the same person to be grouped together. These numerical representations, together with the position of the face within the photo, are stored securely with your account.
You may optionally assign a name to a grouped person, and you may optionally link a grouped person to a Savor account you are connected with.

Important limits:

Face groupings exist only within your own library. They are used solely to organize your photos and are never used to identify people across other users’ libraries or outside of Savor.
Face data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
You can remove a photo from a person, hide a person, or delete face groupings at any time in the app. Deleting your account deletes all face data.

Use of AI Services

Images submitted through Savor are processed solely to provide the requested analysis and memory organization features.

We do not use your uploaded photos to train our own artificial intelligence models.

When Savor uses the OpenAI API, customer content submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI’s models unless explicitly permitted by the customer, in accordance with OpenAI’s API data usage policies.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Savor offers an optional paid subscription (Savor Premium). Payment is collected and processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never receive or store your payment card details.

To manage your subscription, we process:

Your subscription status and history (trial, active, expired)
Purchase events reported by Apple

We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to process this information under your Savor account identifier.

Apple Health and Apple Music (Optional Integrations)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Savor reads workouts and routes you select in order to turn them into memories. Savor does not write any data to Apple Health. Health information is used only to create and display your memories. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.

If you choose to connect Apple Music, Savor reads your listening history and Shazam matches in order to associate songs with your trips and memories.

Both integrations are optional, and you can disconnect them at any time in the app or in your device settings.

Authentication

You may create an account using:

Sign in with Apple
Google Sign-In
Email address and password

Authentication uses secure, industry-standard technologies, including Auth0 where applicable.

We do not receive or store your Apple ID password or Google Account password.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate and improve Savor. These providers process information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are required to protect your information in accordance with applicable laws and contractual obligations.

OpenAI

We use OpenAI to analyze uploaded photos and generate descriptions, identify landmarks, objects, activities, restaurants, museums, and other contextual information that helps organize your memories. Information that may be processed: uploaded images, selected image metadata necessary for analysis, user-generated content.

Google Cloud Platform

We use Google Cloud Platform to supplement image analysis by identifying places, geographic context, nearby landmarks, and location-related information derived from image metadata and recognition results. Information that may be processed: GPS coordinates (when available), image recognition results, limited metadata required for place identification.

Cloudflare

Uploaded photos and related application content are securely stored using Cloudflare’s storage and infrastructure services. Cloudflare also provides security, content delivery, and infrastructure services.

Auth0 (Okta)

We use Auth0 to provide secure account creation and sign-in. Auth0 processes your email address, authentication credentials, and sign-in activity.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat processes purchase events reported by Apple and your Savor account identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your payment details.

Mixpanel

We use Mixpanel to understand how Savor is used (for example, which features are used and how often), so we can improve the product. Usage events are associated with your account identifier. Your photos, notes, and memory content are not sent to Mixpanel. This information is never used for advertising and never sold.

Sentry

We use Sentry, a crash reporting service provided by Functional Software, Inc., to detect and fix errors in the app. When the app crashes or encounters a problem, Sentry receives technical diagnostic information including your device model, operating system version, app version, the error itself, and a record of app activity leading up to it (such as screens visited and network requests). This data is tied to your Savor account ID so we can understand how many users are affected by a given issue. Your photos, notes, and memory content are never sent to Sentry. Diagnostic data is used only to improve the reliability of the app, never for advertising, and we do not sell it. Sentry retains this data for up to 90 days.

Mapbox

We use Mapbox to display maps in the app. When maps are shown, Mapbox receives standard technical information from your device (such as IP address and map tile requests) needed to render the map.

Resend

We use Resend to deliver account and product emails (such as welcome and account notices). Resend processes your email address and the contents of the emails we send you.

Sign in with Apple

If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple provides authentication services. Depending on your settings, Apple may share your name and email address (or a private relay email address) with Savor.

Google Sign-In

If you choose Google Sign-In, Google provides authentication services. Depending on your account settings, Google may share your name, email address, and profile information necessary to create your account.

Storage and Security

Uploaded photos and related content are securely stored using Cloudflare infrastructure.

We use encryption during transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and employ commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Although we strive to protect your information, no Internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide our services.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period unless we are legally required to retain certain information or retain it temporarily for backup recovery, fraud prevention, or security purposes.

If your free trial or subscription ends, your account enters a read-only period during which your content is preserved. If the account remains unsubscribed after that period, we may delete the account and its content, including uploaded photos, after providing advance notice by notification or email.

Children’s Privacy

Savor is not intended for children under the age of 13, or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your country of residence.

Where required by applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When material changes are made, we will revise the Effective Date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice through the application or our website.

Apple App Store Privacy

If you download Savor through the Apple App Store, Apple may collect information in accordance with Apple’s own Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected and processed by Savor.
